Reaching Out Through Camps

I’m possible fellowship was an initiative to build leaders and mentors to reach out to the community of HIV infected and affected. For the past 2 months (July and August) there were various camps conducted under the banner “Nanu Nanavaru” which means me and my people. All the fellows and mentors were given on-field training and had gone through preparation for conducting camps on various skills and themes specified. Different places were given for the participants under one or two mentors. The aim of the camp was to give skill training and at the same time to motivate the participants to take care of their health and persuade them to move on with education and build a decent livelihood. Simultaneously the mentor identified 5 leaders from the group who could reach out to many others and be like a role models. The fellows and mentors have conducted various camps in 6 districts of Karnataka and these camps have filled them with experiences and new insights for the future.
